On Monday, Goop announced it would expand its wellness and apparel offering to include jewellery (amid a very public court battle for her famous Vagina Candles). One such style features a pair of earrings inspired Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter Apple Martin. Upon the release, Paltrow revealed the mother-daughter duo’s chic birthday tradition.

“Every year on Apple’s birthday, we get a new piercing — it’s this little tradition we have,” Paltrow said on Instagram. “She was a big inspiration for this collection and helped me refine the designs. I named the pieces after her and her best friends. She’ll definitely be ‘borrowing’ her namesake earrings.”

It has me thinking though, how many years does it take before there is little left to pierce.

The eponymous style features a circle drop design in 14k yellow gold and pave diamonds. Other styles include a gold link necklace and chunky pinky ring.

“I don’t differentiate between day and night. If I invest in a great piece of jewelry, I’m going to wear it all the time: I’ll sleep in it, wear it on the red carpet, and pick up [my son] Moses from school in it,” Paltrow said.

As the daughter to Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Apple has managed to fly under the radar for much of her adolescence. It wasn’t until the 17-year-old roasted her mother for Goop that she went viral on TikTok. And now we just love her.

“It’s 8:00 a.m., and she’s been doing this since 7:00 a.m.,” Martin says. “She just prances around the bathroom, putting on her millions of Goopglow products for her glowing skin.”

“Then, she gets to work, making some more vagina eggs and candles, vagina candles and vagina perfumes — just everything vagina,” Martin continues to joke.

Of course it was a larger, completely genius PR plan for the launch of the Goop Glow Lotion. Iconic behavior if you ask us.
