Now that Halloween is over and November is here, I am in full holiday mode! And although I haven’t stopped burning my fall candles and taken down my pumpkins just quite yet, I have still been stocking up on all of my new holiday home décor so that I’m ready to revamp my space as soon as Thanksgiving ends. This year, my decorations are coming from one place and one place only — H&M. My favorite purchase from their curated collection is definitely their gold-plated, stainless steel candle holder. Its design is a contemporary, asymmetrical shape complete with six candle holders that can be folded or arranged at different angles to suit the setting of your personal style.

So, no, this isn’t the song that had me literally weeping during a press screening of Cyrano last week. However, this one, the first single released from the film’s soundtrack, is no less gorgeous and rousing. And, yeah, ok, it’s also definitely more than a little sentimental. “Someone To Say” is the film’s opening number and it’s essentially a classic “I want…” song, that moment in a musical when a main character belts out their heart’s desire. Haley Bennett, who plays Roxanne in this musical adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac, is on lead vocals here along with a whole ensemble, letting us know that she’s longing for true love. I’m not, as a general rule, all that into musicals. But with original music and lyrics by The National, Cyrano, which arrives in theaters on December 31, isn’t what I think of as typical Broadway fare. It’s more emotional indie rock than show-stopping show tunes. The full soundtrack is out December 10, so until then I’ll probably be listening to this one song on repeat.
