Taylor Swift has arrived at the 66th annual Grammy awards in Los Angeles where she is nominated for six awards. And while the 34-year-old popstar’s arrival was heralded by screaming fans, her custom Schiaparelli gown—with its rouched and corseted bodice and flowing train—has divided the internet. Some praised Swift’s stylist Joseph Cassell for styling the gown with black gloves and layered jewels, others questioned Swift’s hairstyle.
Nevertheless, the star’s reputation as the queen of any room she steps into remains firmly intact, only cemented further when she stopped to help Lana Del Rey on the red carpet.
This evening, Swift is up for Album of the Year for Midnights and Song of the Year for Anti-Hero. If she wins the former, Swift will become the first artist in history to take home Album of the Year four times. (She’s currently tied with Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon.)
Swift also used the evening to announce a brand new album!
“All’s fair in love and poetry…,” she wrote on her Instagram. “New album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. Out April 19.”
Swift will fly from Los Angeles to Tokyo to perform her three-hour Eras tour show for four consecutive nights before flying to the Superbowl to see footballer boyfriend Travis Kelce play on February 12. She will then fly to Melbourne on February 16 to begin her Australian tour.
So, what do you think of her Schiaparelli gown? I, for one, am a fan. And do you think Swift will tease her new tracks at her Australian shows? Here’s hoping.
