After 13 years of marriage, supermodel Gisele Bündchen and NFL star Tom Brady officially split at the end of October of this year. And for their first Christmas apart, Bündchen returned to her native Brazil, while Brady spent the day on the field.
On Tuesday, the model shared a series of snaps on Instagram from her tropical holiday and captioned the post, “Always so good to be back home.” She posted a selfie of herself posing in front of blooming flowers and photos of her kids (Benjamin Rein, 13 and Vivian Lake, 10, whom she shares with Brady) riding horses, singing karaoke, biking and feeding animals.
A week before Christmas, Bündchen shared a sun-kissed selfie in Brazil standing by the ocean writing, “Recharging with my little ones in the country of my ❤️!”
Brady and his team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, played in a game against the Arizona Cardinals on Christmas Day. He delivered a victory on the field but was bracing for a different kid of post-game celebration without his kids. A week before Christmas, he opened up on his SiriusXM podcast Let’s Go! with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray saying, “It’ll be a new experience that I’ve never had before that I’m going to have to learn how to deal with.”
He added, “I’m going to have to learn how to deal with Christmas and Christmas night and still go out there and be a professional and then look forward to celebrating Christmas with my kids the day after.”
He addressed the split for the first time in November on his podcast and said that the “good news” was that the situation with Bündchen was “very amicable.”
But having the news “play out in front of a lot of people” was difficult. “We all have our unique challenges in life. We’re all humans. We do the best we could do,” he shared.
As for Bündchen, following the news she was spotted in Costa Rica with her kids and later attended the jewelry brand Vivara’s 60th anniversary celebration in São Paulo, Brazil in December and glistened in a high-shine gold gown.
