Gigi Hadid switched things up with a punk style moment at the 2022 CFDA Awards. On Monday evening, the Council of Fashion Designers of America gathered fashion’s elite at New York City’s Casa Cipriani South Street to celebrate the most influential fashion icons and designers of the year.

The supermodel spiced things up for the star-studded occasion, wearing layers upon layers of Thom Browne tweed. Hadid sported a white cropped button-down dress shirt under a plaid vest, topped off with a tweed blazer from the American brand.

The Guest in Residence founder also wore low-rise pinstriped trousers that revealed the waistband of the brand’s (now-viral) undergarment, in Browne’s signature red, white, and blue color palette which matched the rest of her look. Hadid tied a braided rope belt across her hips featuring a gold anchor charm and finished off her look with white ankle socks and black oxford heels.

The model accessorized her outfit with stud earrings and a gold spiked hoop septum nose ring by jeweler Maria Tash. She wore her blonde hair pulled back into a slick, tight knot, and a highlight of her look was the edgy charcoal gray lip by makeup artist Patrick Ta. Hadid kept the rest of her glam glowing and natural, letting the statement lip speak for itself.

Browne was nominated for American Menswear Designer of the Year along with Jerry Lorenzo for Fear of God, Mike Amiri for Amiri, Willy Chavarria and Emily Bode Aujla for Bode, the latter of which took home the win.
