Just when we thought the red carpet season was all but finished, the 2021 Billboard Music Awards descended on the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles today. While the event felt  pared back compared to years gone by, the extravagance of the music industry (and its sense of style) was alive and well.

Bring It On actress Gabrielle Union was among the best dressed of the evening and stepped onto the black carpet wearing none other than custom Prada. The floor-skimming gown featured a plunging neckline and meticulous beading finished with the iconic Prada badge. The blush pink tote was of course courtesy of the Italian fashion house and is a newly-released style so you can shop it too. The white-hot piece was finished off with Bulgari jewels.

It’s a yes from us. The look was assembled by stylist Thomas Christos who is behind many of Union’s past ensembles.

When asked by E! News what she was most excited about, Union replied: “I’m excited to be out of the house and putting on deodorant consistently.”

Same Union, same.

Prada has had its DNA on some of the biggest sartorial moments of 2021. There was of course the red logo-clad headband worn by Amanda Gorman at Joe Biden’s Presidential Inauguration. Haim took to the Grammys this year wearing custom lavender Prada looks and Julia Garner officially cemented her position as a style icon to watch in a cascading 1920s inspired gown.

Union joined the likes of Cynthia Erivo, Chelsea Handler, Dixie D’Amelio, Henry Golding, Kathryn Hahn, Kelsea Ballerini, Lena Waithe, Leslie Odom Jr., Lil Rel Howery, Padma Lakshmi, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Swizz Beatz, and Tina Knowles Lawson as presenters at this year’s Billboard Music Awards ceremony.

Performances included P!nk, Doja Cat, SZA and Alicia Keys.
