We here at GRAZIA love when celebrities try out new hair looks, from Kacey Musgraves’ pink hair transformation to the two-tone hair trend of Miley Cyrus, we’re always on the lookout for iconic cuts. Now, it’s Florence Pugh‘s turn as she posted a series of pictures to Instagram yesterday debuting a short and edgy blonde haircut that we just love.
Watching Florence Pugh’s hair transformation over the past couple of months has been a journey. About six weeks ago, we got a post from Pugh that signified a landmark moment for any star: the great chop. Pugh posted a photo of herself, sans the iconic long tresses were used to seeing her in, and it defined a new era for the actress, something shorter, edgier and all around a little more unique.
And lest we not forget this Beetlejuice-era bright red pixie that made the rounds.
Before this, Pugh went dark and long for a brief but stylish period.
This was a far departure from her previous hair, which was long, blonde and featured mauve tips reminiscent of a teen’s at-home hair-dye experiment. This type of style harkens back to a certain age of beauty (think Kesha in the early 2010s), and it was polarizing to say the least. But Pugh’s style has always teetered on the line of edgy, artful and bohemian, so this mauve-tips moment was something to be expected, and celebrated.
In a pattern of events that seems natural (ironic as that is), Pugh going back to blond after a period of dark and broody is her going back to her roots (pun intended), and we can’t wait to see what she pulls out to show next time.
