The beginning of March typically signifies the end of another fall/ winter season of shows and albeit virtual, we’ve reached the conclusion of FW21. In strict opposition to last year, where we were boarding planes to head home from Paris, today we are rolling up our sleeves from home and ready to get to work on calling out the biggest trends fall collections had to offer.

While the season’s format was different from last year’s shows and presentations, designers certainly got creative in the absence of in-person events to deliver fall collections where there was no shortage of trends to choose from. From dresses that have us itching to go out again to coats and accessories perfect for the slopes, the fall trends left nothing to be desired. We’re rounded up the top 12 trends you need to know come next fall.

All Over Color

Sticking to one color and one color only is  a bold choice and one really reserved for commitment stans but  designers this season made a strong case for wearing a singular color from head to toe, accessories included.

Everyday Wednesday

While some might dread the idea of a uniform, fashion often embraces it. A trademark look is sought after and none is more ubiquitous than that of Wednesday Addams.

extreme weather

If the weather of the past few months taught us anything, it’s to always be prepared for a winter storm. It’s like the collections knew what we needed and provided us with all the best coats to keep us warm and looking chic.

bare chested

Not for the wallflowers, designers this season are giving women the opportunity to bare it all or at least make it seem like we are.

fully vested

Sweater vests might’ve reigned supreme a few seasons ago but there is a new type of vest in town for fall and it is coming for the sweater vest’s crown.

hoods

There is no denying the pandemic has changed our lives forever. Masks and face protectors are a reality for us now and designers have taken note. While hoods might not provide any kind of medical protection, they do deter people from getting too close and provide an air of mystery, which is always in style.

modern lady whistledown

The Bridgerton Effect has a strong hold on fashion and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. While no one is going out in full period attire, the allure of the corset is undeniable and has been brought into the modern era this season.

My girl wants to party all the time

We all can’t wait to be around friends and hang out post pandemic. Fall is giving us the perfect wardrobe for when we are finally sprung from the couch and can be in the club!

OPTICAL ILLUSION

We think clothes are always interesting to look at, but these really give your eyes something to see.

shimmy shimmy

The cold shoulder has become a fashion staple and what we’ve seen from the fall runways really makes us want to shimmy!

hit the slopes

Whether you’re a Molly Bloom level skier or really just go for the après ski culture, this season has you covered if you’re on the slopes or always in the cabin.

swallow me up knits

Since quarantine began, we’re been drawn to comfort clothes and what’s better than snuggling up in a chunky knit? Fall’s got us covered even if we (hopefully) aren’t quarantined anymore by the time next fall rolls around.
