In February, Evan Rachel Wood accused Marilyn Manson of grooming and subjecting her to abuse “for years”. The globe was shocked after the disgraced heavy metal artist then appeared on stage at Kanye West’s listening party for Donda. In response to the shocking PR move, Wood has shared a video of a recent performance to Instagram, directed at Manson.
Standing in front of a crowd at the Bourbon Room in Los Angeles, the Westworld star performed a rendition of New Radicals’ track “You Get What You Give” which features Manson’s name in the lyrics.
“‘You get what you give'” she captioned the video. “For my fellow survivors who got slapped in the face this week. I love you. Don’t give up.”
Amid her performance, Wood threw up the middle finger. Watch the incredible moment at 4:44.
The actress and artist revealed she was abused in an instagram post in early 2021. “The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson,” Wood wrote. “He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission. I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail.”
Kim Kardashian was also involved in the Donda show but according to a source for E! News, she wouldn’t have done so if she was aware of Manson’s appearance.
“She would never have participated in something if she knew Manson was a part of it,” the insider said.
Following Wood’s allegations of abuse, other women including Ashley Lindsay and Sarah McNeilly revealed their own experiences at the hands of the musician.
Weeks after the allegations, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Manson was under investigation.
“The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Special Victims Bureau is investigating allegation(s) of domestic violence involving Mr. Brian Warner also known as ‘Marilyn Manson,’ who works in the music industry,” a police statement read. “The incidents occurred between 2009 and 2011 when Mr. Warner lived in the city of West Hollywood.”
