Emma Stone arrived to the 2022 Met Gala in a refreshingly simple version of the “Gilded Glamour” theme in a bridal white Louis Vuitton feathery frock. And as it turns out, her dress was indeed a bridal-ready wedding look that she wore to her own nuptials in 2020.
According to Louis Vuitton, Stone actually rewore her wedding afterparty dress to the glamours gala, which featured sheer straps, white buttons up the sides and a feathery trim along the hem. She accessorized with earrings and rings from the Louis Vuitton High Jewelry Collection and a pair of silver leather ankle-strap pumps, also by Louis Vuitton.
“Emma Stone gives a second life to a white dress specially designed for her wedding after-party,” the French fashion house wrote on Instagram. Adding, “Sartorial revival.”
The brand also shared on social media that each Louis Vuitton ambassador or friend of the house that walked the Met Gala red carpet alongside creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière, wore “an archival or previously worn look with a twist for the occasion.” The lineup included Stone, Cynthia Erivo, Eileen Gu, Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas, Hoyeon Jung, Renate Reinsve, Gemma Chan, Phoebe Dynevor, Chloë Grace Moretz and Eve Jobs.
Stone tied the knot to husband Dave McCary in September 2020, after the duo announced their engagement in 2019 via a selfie on Instagram showing off her unique pearl engagement ring. Stone met McCary, who previously worked for Saturday Night Live, when she hosted the show in 2016. They welcomed a baby girl in March 2021.
While details on her bridal look were kept quiet until now, we hope she pulls out her ceremony wedding dress for the next red carpet fête. Here’s hoping!
