Miu Miu, Ella Emhoff

When Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter Ella Emhoff arrived at the US Capital on Inauguration Day wearing an embellished plaid Miu Miu coat, Twitter—not to mention the notoriously steely fashion set—erupted in appreciation for the 21-year-old’s style. Overnight, the Parsons School of Design student not-so-quietly became a fashion sensation. In the weeks following, Emhoff signed with IMG models, released a knitwear collection (which quickly sold out online), made her runway debut at Proenza Schouler, and amassed hundreds of thousands of new followers on social media. It feels safe to say that this is only the beginning of the budding fashion icon’s career.

In other words, all eyes and ears are on the young artist as we impatiently wait to hear what’s next for her. Most recently, she, along with thousands of other fashion aficionados, watched today’s Miu Miu Fall-Winter 2021 presentation, dubbed “Brave Hearts”—and it seems she’s exceptionally pleased with Miuccia Prada’s ski-slope-inspired collection, evidenced by what she had to say about it on social media. “I am crying,” Emhoff wrote on her Instagram Story, atop a photo of Look 8. She followed up that post with another image of Look 3 from the collection.

The two get-ups that caught the knitwear enthusiast’s eye incorporated colorful hat-face-mask hybrids that we’ll have on heavy rotation next winter. The season’s stylist Lotta Volkova paired the cozy accessories with the collection’s delightfully furry skiwear, bags, gloves, and footwear—some of which is bound to end up alongside Emhoff’s already infamous Miu Miu wardrobe.
