Olympic gold medalist Eileen Gu just had a major modeling milestone on Thursday evening, when she made her catwalk debut at Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2023 fashion show.
The 18-year-old freestyle skier modeled a boxy cropped vest top, complete with strong shoulders, paired with a matching two-tiered ruffle skirt. The athlete’s accessories included a black leather belt tied around her bare torso, metallic lace-up sneakers and a monogram handbag.
The Chinese-American athlete and Stanford student expressed her gratitude on social media writing, “Walking the Louis Vuitton Cruise show today was such a dreammm 😭 Thank you @louisvuitton @nicolasghesquiere for having me and for your masterful artistry 🖤.”
Fellow Olympian, track and field athlete Dalilah Muhammad, walked the runway as well, sporting a similar silhouette to that of Gu in a bold yellow hue.
Gu’s trip down the runway comes hot off the heels of her 2022 Met Gala appearance, where the model and athlete walked the red carpet with Louis Vuitton‘s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, in a black leather mini dress.
Gu, who is signed with IMG Models, has been featured in many campaigns (including Louis Vuitton’s Twist bag campaign) and international fashion editorials. The youngest Olympic gold medalist in freestyle skiing, the history-making champion is also a Tiffany & Co. ambassador.
After taking home the gold at the Beijing Olympics, Gu was photographed wearing stacked Tiffany & Co. rings, which immediately skyrocketed in searches. During her medal ceremony, Gu notably sported the Tiffany & Co. Knot Double Row Hinged Bangle as well.
Gu’s knack for winning, paired with the rising star’s magnetic charm, means it’s probably not the last we’ll see of the athlete-turned-model.
