The rumors were true. Dua Lipa just upgraded her iconic street style to the SS22 runway at Milan Fashion Week, courtesy of Donatella Versace. The 25-year-old pop star has had a longtime relationship with Versace after meeting at a Versus (a diffusion line of the Italian fashion house) show back in February 2017 and recently starred in the Versace FW21 campaign. So while it’s no surprise she would be at the designer’s show, Lipa caught us all by surprise as she hit the runway.
As the Physical singer opened the show with a strong walk and meticulously straight face to the beat of her own soundtrack, it’s hard to believe it was her first time gracing any designer’s runway. Lipa dazzled in her opening sequinned top and matching skirt. We’re getting ’60s disco vibes and as she hit the end of her walk, she gave a sultry smile and wink to the cameras before heading back down the catwalk.
Not only did Lipa open the show, but she also closed it ever so effortlessly in a black suit dress with side cutouts and Versace’s signature gilded pins — as if she’s done this her whole life. Now adding model to her impressive resume, which already includes singer and songwriter, we can’t wait to see which runway the star graces next, perhaps during Paris Fashion Week?
