Dua Lipa is leaning into full Barbiecore-mode! The singer, who will play Mermaid Barbie in the highly anticipated Greta Gerwig-directed Barbie movie coming out in June, just teased a new single coming out this Friday.

In the caption she wrote, “This Barbie has a song coming this week…FRIDAY MIDNIGHT BST.”

The quick clip appears to be a sneak peek for a potential music video. The video opens with Lipa taking off the Barbie heel — similar to the film’s preview. Then we get a quick snippet of a full pink Versace look, which was confirmed by none other than Donatella Versace, who commented, “She’s a Versace Barbie.”

In the clip, the singer teased her new song, “Dance the Night,” which is coming out on Friday, May 26 at midnight BST. The end of the clip also showed the Barbie graphic with the words, “Barbie the Album.”

The timing does coincide with her new colalboration with Versace. The pop princess has become a front row fixture at the brand’s fashion shows. She’s also modeled in its campaigns and even walked on the runway when she opened and closed the Spring/Summer 2022 runway presentation.

Now, Lipa is expanding her relationship with the brand by co-designing a womenswear collection with Donatella. Entitled “La Vacanza,” the collaborative see now, buy now assortment will be unveiled at an “intimate” runway show in Cannes on May 23.

Looking at the accessories worn in her “Dance the Night” teaser, they look like they could be part of the Dua Lipa x Versace collection because the iconic gold Medusa jewelry. She also rocks multi-color butterflies, which has become a signature motif for the singer.

Lipa has been making her presence known at Cannes. On Friday, she made a splash by stepping out for the first time with her new beau, French film director Romain Gavras.

She’s going to have a busy week and we’ll be watching every step of the way.
