If you happen to be a Dua Lipa fan who spent just one second of time on TikTok over the weekend, you would have heard the name Arón Piper pop up many, many times.
That’s because in blurry videos shared to the app by fans, Lipa, who’s currently in Europe as part of her Future Nostalgia world tour, is seen dancing with Piper on a night out in a club, in what fans assumed to be a flirty, sexual way.
In other words, the internet has decided the pair are dating when really, they’re more likely to have been A) friends hanging out and enjoying the music, or B) at the very most, a casual hook-up. Exhibit A:

To add to the drama, just 24 hours later, Piper’s name was trending again beside another famous British musician: this time, FKA Twigs.
On TikTok, Twigs, who previously dated actor Robert Pattinson for three years, posted a video of her and Piper engaging in a full-on makeout session with Piper topless and Twigs wearing a bikini. Exhibit B:

Naturally, this sent the internet into further meltdown with one fan writing, “THE GIRLS ARE FIGHTING FOR ARON PIPER WHATS TEAAAA” and another adding, “DID I MISS A WHOLE CHAPTER?”
On that second question, if you feel like you, too, missed a whole chapter titled “Introducing Arón Piper” before, you know, he was in the company of two of the world’s coolest musicians, same.
It turns out, Piper is a 25-year-old Spanish actor, singer and model who’s best known for playing Ander Muñoz in the Netflix teen drama Elite. (Millennials, that’s our get out of jail free card.) Piper’s so popular, he has almost 14 million fans on Instagram, and, to be fair to the girlies, he’s pretty damn good looking:
But back to Twigs and Lipa and this internet love triangle. When it comes to the Twigs, it looks like she enlisted the actor to star in the music video for her new song, “Killer,” the tune that the video above was set to. Noticing Piper’s name was trending with all these Dua Lipa videos likely prompted Twigs to release a clip of the video, knowing it would go far more viral right now than at any other time (which, as Twigs and fellow muso Halsey have said in the past, is what record labels are pushing for right now).
Brava to Twigs for the perfect marketing moment. And also brava to Lipa for dancing with this hottie in the club.
