Coachella might be an OTT spectacle, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t spent the last three days pouring over every single outfit and beauty detail, most notably those from It girls like Hailey Bieber, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Emma Chamberlain and Camila Morrone.

Each year, the three-day Palm Springs festival inspires elaborate hair and makeup looks, but this time around felt much more subdued. For example, the breakaway hair look? Messy, disheveled, and as if it hadn’t beed tended to by a professional (despite that being truthful or not).

Take Kylie Jenner. The makeup mogul is known for her mermaid-like extensions and soft, perfect waves. But over the weekend, she wore her hair is an undone messy half-up bun (the kind you do when you’re busy, or working out, or about to shower). One follower even commented, “The hair and fashions fell off bad what’s going on with y’all??” But, we love it – it’s easy, low-fuss, and a million miles away from the space buns and glitter we saw everywhere pre-pandemic. Kylie, go off.

Model Irina Shayk followed a similar suit: natural texture with a side of frizz. Camila Morrone opted for a similar look: fresh skin, smoky eyes, and roughed-up hair. We love.

Amelia Gray – who is the queen of undone beauty – took things a step further with wet hair (post shampoo mosh pit, anyone?). Coachella queen Emma Chamberlain showed off a fluffy mullet cut with bangs, made infinitely cooler with red lips and loafers.

And then we have Hailey Bieber, who’s clean girl beauty aesthetic has taken over TikTok. With her fresh skin, sleek bob and baseball cap (plus, denim and a white singlet), the model proves that nonchalance is the look of 2023.

Finally, Shanina Shaik gave us a leather twin set, youthful flushed skin and a loose, low-slung bun. Easy, long-wearing, and manageable in the desert.
