As a born and bred American, I grew up with fashion labels Coach and Champion, able to recognize them as swiftly as the nation’s infamous fast food chains. In many ways, I feel like I’ve grown up with both brands, as they’ve maintained spots in my ever-changing wardrobe over the years. My very first bag from the luxury label (the brand’s signature hobo) lives in the closet of my childhood bedroom, and amid the COVID-19 pandemic, I splurged on a cozy sweatsuit from the sportswear brand.
I digress, but these brands feel a part of my American DNA, and, not to be terribly corny, but a piece of my personal story. So when I heard that the two were joining forces for a limited-edition collection, it felt…right. On Tuesday, February 2, both brands took to social media to unveil the collab and its accompanying campaign imagery, starring model Paloma Elsesser, and TikTok stars Wisdom Kaye, Maha Gondal, and Jeffrey Tung. To accompany the collection, Coach is releasing “How to Coach a Champion” TikTok challenges starring the aforementioned social media stars. At the time of publishing (1:30 pm EST), the challenges haven’t been unveiled just yet, but interested app users should pay close attention to the label’s TikTok feed to not miss out.
