After the mystery/thriller Knives Out premiered in 2019, the internet could not stop talking about one specific thing about the movie — the now-iconic chunky white cable-knit sweater Chris Evans‘ character wore during a scene with Ana de Armas.

At the time, a tweet went viral from reporter Anna Menta when she wrote, “The only thing I will say about Knives Out is that, upon seeing Chris Evans in a sweater, the girl next to me gasped and said very softly and tenderly, ‘Sweater.’”

It’s been a subject of fascination ever since the film came out — even though his castmate Daniel Craig doesn’t quite understand the hype. While promoting the next Knives Out installment, Glass Onion, Craig said in a BBC Radio 1 interview. “It’s the bit that goes over my head. I don’t understand. It’s like, so Chris Evans is wearing a jumper. It’s like he’s naked or at least naked from the sort of waist down, wearing a jumper. I’m like, ‘He’s just wearing a jumper.’ News is like, ‘Chris Evans wears jumper!’ [But] sure, it’s a living. He does it very well. He wears it very beautifully.”

Evans is still wearing the style “beautifully,” to quote Craig, and stepped out on Tuesday in a summer-ready version of the knit for the premiere of his new film Ghosted, co-starring his fellow Knives Out star, de Armas.

The actor arrived in a light knit cream-colored sweater from King & Tuckfield. The piece features stripes of a summery light green accenting the collar and two pockets, plus the ribbed design of the knit gives it that cozy feel, reminiscent of the iconic Knives Out sweater. He paired it with coordinating green Giuliva Heritage pants, VINNY’s loafers and an IWC Schaffhausen watch, styled by Ilaria Urbinati.

Earlier in the day, he made the press tour rounds in another piece by King & Tuckfield — a brown and tan printed Merino wool polo. And also wore a navy blue vest from knitwear brand, John Smedley for a stop at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

He’s perfected the art of the summer knit and when you’re done swooning over his outfits, there’s more to love in his new film, out April 21.

Teaming up for de Armas again for Ghosted marks the third time the pair have worked together (they were both in the 2022 action-thriller The Gray Man in addition to Knives Out). In Ghosted, Evans plays Cole who goes on a great date with de Armas’ Sadie only to be ghosted. When he goes after her to London, he gets kidnapped until he’s saved by Sadie, who’s actually a secret C.I.A. agent. It’s the stuff action-packed rom-coms are made of.

Ghosted streams on Apple TV+ on April 21.
