Two years after marrying her husband, gallerist Siniša Mačković, at New York’s City Hall, mid-pandemic and mid-pregnancy, Chloë Sevigny finally had her big white chapel wedding in Darien, Connecticut, for which the world’s coolest bride — naturally — wore a sheer Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture dress by Glenn Martins (and at least two other outfits throughout the evening).

Thankfully, Sevigny is too cool to ask for a social media ban at her nuptials, instead, letting her guests post candid images throughout the day, reminiscent of when Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s Vegas wedding was live-streamed by Diplo. Only chicer. Much chicer.

By the looks of ‘grams, Sevigny got married in a tiny white church, holding a cluster of calla lilies. The couple’s 2-year-old son, Vanja, wore a little sailor outfit for the day, while the groom was dressed in a black tuxedo.

Furthermore, there were jumbo martinis on offer as well as swan ice sculptures serving oysters and cocktail shrimp. Perhaps most notably, seen on the tables were mint-julep cups full of cigarettes for guests to help themselves to.

“Of course, Chloe Sevigny is the coolest girl in New York,” friend Derek Blasberg wrote on Instagram alongside a gallery of photos from the day, which included an image of Sevigny’s BFF, actress Natasha Leonne, a close-up of the bride’s sheer gown and the iconic bowl filled with cigarettes.

“But did you know she’s a top secret traditionalist too? She loves toiles, houndstooth, personalized stationery on heavy cardstock, worn-in cardigan sets, and etiquette lessons as much as the next New Englander,” he continued, adding, “(In 2009, she hosted a book party for me and I sent her monogrammed Tiffany’s playing cards as a thank you, and I was beyond thrilled when I saw them on display at her house years later.)”

“That’s why yesterday we were off to a charming, tiny white clapboard church house in leafy Connecticut on a crisp spring afternoon to celebrate her wedding to Siniša Mačković, a director at Karma gallery. Spoiler alert: Technically, they were already married in 2020, and have the cutest little towheaded baby, Vanja. But this was the official celebration, complete with multiple bridal looks, ice sculptures, and a perfect, simple ceremony that mentioned her loyalty, his twinkly eyes, and both of their dance moves. It was touching and sweet and very cool and I hope it was OK that I took a monogrammed napkin home with me for posterity.”

After the ceremony, the bride and groom were driven off in a vintage Mercedes convertible coupe complete with a ‘Just Married’ sign and cans hanging off the back. They reportedly held their reception at the historic Waveny House in New Canaan, followed by an afterparty at her brother’s New York City nightclub, Paul’s Casablanca, where Sevigny, now dressed in a white lace corset jumpsuit with flowers in her hair, smoked inside.
