Charlize Theron is switching things up with her new drastically different hair color. Swapping out her golden locks for raven-hued tresses, the South African actress appeared on the red carpet on Saturday for her Africa Outreach Project block party gala and debuted the new look.
Pulling a posh and minimalistic fashion moment for the occasion, Theron opted for a white Christian Dior button-down (almost identical to the one she wore to last year’s event), teamed with high-waisted flair blue jeans, a pair of black Dior pumps and a Dior quilted black leather clutch. The star accessorized her look with a silver chain necklace, tucked under her shirt’s collar, a singular diamond-encrusted chain earring, a diamond tennis bracelet, and multiple rings.
The stop-and-stare moment came from her dark choppy lob, which was styled in a half-up-half-down ‘do.
Always one for a dramatic transformation, Theron shaved her head for her role in 2015’s Mad Max: Fury Road and underwent such intense makeovers for 2003’s Monster and 2019’s Bombshell, she was completely unrecognizable.
Theron has made a habit of bouncing back and forth between blonde and brunette. While she’s been known in the Hollywood-sphere as a blonde bombshell, the Academy Award-winning actress has gone to the dark side for films like the 2005 sci-fi flick Æon Flux, 2007 films Battle in Seattle and In the Valley of Elah, and most recently, 2020’s The Old Guard.
According to IMDb, The Old Guard 2 has begun filming, which might be the reason for her new locks.
She chose her hair switch-up at a very important event. The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project works to make a difference with HIV/AIDs prevention programs in the founder’s home country of South Africa.
