Ahead of Camila Mendes Thursday, February 4 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 26-year-old gave her fans a behind-the-scenes look at her style and glam. While every piece of her ensemble is on-point, we’re particularly enamored of the Riverdale star’s pastel-floral “Gigi” dress by Australian label, With Jéan. The sheer, form-fitting number is a preview of the feminine floral trend we can expect in spring-summer 2021.
As touched on above, florals dominated the Spring-Summer 2021 runways, both in terms of accessories and apparel. Previewed on the catwalk at Tom Ford, Collina Strada, and Cynthia Rowley, fun florals are a trend to embrace in the new season. Miranda Priestly said it best: florals for spring aren’t particularly groundbreaking, but we expect to see unique takes on the controversial print, à la Mendes.
Mendes teamed the elegant number with twist-hoop earrings. At the time of publication (3:30 pm EST on Friday, February 5), she has yet to share who designed them. To complement her statement dress, she wore her hair pulled back in a half-up half-down hairstyle by Vancouver-based freelance hairstylist, Erin Klassen. As for makeup, she stunned in a fresh-faced no-makeup-makeup look brought to life by beauty pro, Maria Renée Walton.
The NYC alum’s long-sleeved mini dress is one of the brand’s new launches, from Drop 2 of its “Stratosphere” collection, which dropped this past January. The “Petunia” pattern is also available in the label’s tie-front Fifi Top and the V-neck Lani dress.
