In a desperate concern for the popstar’s safety, Britney Spearsnew lawyer has requested the court to expedite the hearing to determine the removal of her father from as her conservator, emphasizing “every day matters.”

According to Variety, Mathew Rosengart filed a motion on Thursday to move the hearing date from Sept. 29 to Aug. 23, or as soon as possible. “In short, although a two-month wait for a hearing on the Petition may not seem significant in the context of 13 years, Ms. Spears should not be forced to continue feel traumatized, lose sleep and suffer further,” Rosengart reportedly wrote in the court filing. “Every day matters.”

Rosengart first filed a motion to remove, or immediately suspend, Jamie Spears as conservator on July 26. The urgent request to remove her father, who has allegedly abused his authority over her personal endeavors and finances, cited a the probate code that grants the court broad discretion to remove a conservator if “the best interests” of the conservatee are being considered.

In one instance, Rosengart alleged in the motion that Mr. Spears mismanaged and “dissipated” the singer’s finances. He further asserted that Mr. Spears “grossly overpaid” her former business manager, Tri Star Sports and Entertainment. According to Rosengart’s statements, the 69-year-old paid the company paid the company firm $500,000 in December 2019, which was $300,000 more than was supposedly due. Earlier that year, Spears had reportedly taken a break from performing.

Britney Spears’ new legal front comes after the resignation of her court-appointed lawyer, Samuel D. Ingham III. In her first-ever court appearance, the 39-year-old delivered an impassioned statement of the abuse she endured under her father’s guardianship. In addition to her revealing her detailed experience of nonconsensual labor, drug abuse and reproductive control, she also rebuked Ingham’s legal aid. She said that Ingham “has been scared for me to come forward,” and even shockingly noted that he instructed her “to keep it to myself.” The bombshell revelation that she was unaware that she could petition to end the conservatorship further stoked the claims that her court-appointed attorney failed to thoroughly discuss her legal options.
