For the first time Britney Spears‘ agent and friend Cade Hudson has spoken out on the singer’s controversial conservatorship. In an Instagram post to his private account, Hudson alleges Jamie Spears threatened him to keep quiet on the conditions of the pop star’s arrangements. Now, “enough is enough”.

As quoted by TMZ, Hudson writes, “I’ve kept my mouth shut for 12 + years on Britney. After getting thousands of death threats, getting water bottles thrown at my head in bars from bystanders telling me I’m brainwashing [Britney] lm now speaking up.”

“I’ve kept my mouth shut out of the fear of losing my job as her agent and losing the career I worked my a** off for 15 years to build, out of threats from the man we all know who, but I won’t even dignify mentioning his name. I’m officially done being quiet,” he continued.

Hudson went on to shine a light on the overwhelming media attention Spears was forced to endure as a first-time mother at 26. He also added that the 2008 conservatorship was “a violation of someone’s basic human rights”. The agent then finished his powerful statement by recalling the great qualities of the “Gimme More” star.

“I know Britney — the real Britney,” Hudson continued. “The Britney who spends Christmas with my family, the Britney who volunteers at dance classes for underprivileged children, the Britney who would bring housewarming gifts anytime she came over to my house, the Britney who does handstands on the beach, the Britney who calls just to check in on how I am doing.

“The system and the public failed her. Her new attorney is the best of the best and knows that the work has just begun but it’s progress & hope and that’s all we can ask for now until action can be taken.”

Overnight Spears officially filed a petition to have her father removed from the conservatorship. It comes after July 15 where the 39-year-old asked the judge to charge Mr. Spears with conservatorship abuse.

More to come.
