After teasing fans earlier this week,
BLACKPINK‘s member Lisa has officially unveiled the release
date for
her forthcoming solo album. The self-titled
album, Lalisa, will arrive on September 10.
With her signature cropped bangs accented with knee-length ombré
braids, Lisa stuns on the album visuals in a red bandana-printed
jumper. The look is a welcomed entrèe into the new era of
songstress, who is the latest of the K-pop quartet to foray into
her solo avenue. According to the official BLACKPINK Instagram
account, the purchase of the CD will be accompanied with an 88-page
photo book, Polaroid film, postcards, double-sided posters and more
trinkets.
News of Lisa’s imminent debut first came from Soompi, a Korean news
outlet, earlier this summer. According to their reports, YG
Entertainment (the mega girl group’s label) confirmed that Lisa had
been cooped in the studio to prepare for her single and that she
would also be releasing smash singles stocked in her private
discography.
While the Blinks (the group’s massive standom) has
longed for Lisa’s solo album, the 24-year-old has been ambling
through the fashion scene for quite some time. Amping up her
endorsement partnerships last year, she became Celine’s first
global ambassador — largely predicated on her intimate relationship
with the house’s creative director Hedi Slimane. She also signed on
as a brand ambassador for the Italian gemstone giant Bulgari.
The label previously announced that forthcoming solo tracks from
Rosé, Lisa, and Jisoo would follow the October 2020 release of
THE ALBUM, the group’s first full-length studio album.
Jennie, the first member to release an individual project,
conspicuously entered her own musical venture with “SOLO” in 2018.
Rosé’s would later premiere her acclaimed venture with album
R. From the looks of things, we can suspect that next up
in line to introduce the Blink Army to their own sonic complexity
is Jisoo.
