Icelandic musician Björk has returned to the stage spreading her empowering unique and experimental electric sounds across Iceland on her Orkestral tour. Stylewise, her tour wardrobe has undoubtedly been just as noteworthy as her music lineup. We honestly expected nothing less — the singer is quite familiar with landing herself on both top music charts and fashion charts — who can ever forget her Oscar’s swan dress in 2001. However, Although the feathery look remains iconic, her post-pandemic style is ushering in a new era, and honestly, we’re loving it.

Like most of us, Björk is emerging from her lockdown cocoon experimenting with new looks. She opts for a range of avant-garde ensembles, including pieces from Marine Serre, Iris van Herpen, and Tomo Koizumi. Her most recent look worn earlier this week is where the star truly blossomed. The star took the stage in an over-the-top voluminous Balenciaga blue velvet, ultra-hooped gown from the SS20 collection. Naturally, she paired the look with a metal headpiece, a signature look at this point. Compared to her previous headpieces, this one was relatively simple, perhaps to leave star power to the already showstopping gown.

Add this look to Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasali’s best looks of the year (which is seemingly starting to pile up). Gvasali is undoubtedly having quite a year, but could this also be the year of Björk? This new era of Björk is timed oh so perfectly as she jumps back into her music career. In addition to her Icelandic tour, she also recently announced a new studio album and that her tenth concert tour, Cornucopia, based in New York City, will, for the first time will head to the West Coast next year.
