Actress and Hollywood royalty Billie Lourd has married her longtime love Austen Rydell in Mexico this weekend, and just shared the first snapshots from the occasion on Instagram.

For her fairytale day, the American Horror Story actress wore a princess-style custom Rodarte gown, featuring a voluminous tulle skirt and off-the-shoulder sweetheart-style neckline, courtesy of designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy.

In an interview with Vogue, Lourd said the Mulleavy sisters were the “first people who came to mind” to create her wedding dress. She’s been a longtime fan of their work and says the connection they have with her mother, the late Carrie Fisher whom the designing duo interviewed in 2014, sealed the deal.

“I also felt a strong connection to them because of their connection to my mom and because they are California gals just like me,” she said. They added a special layer of sequins underneath the gown, which Lourd joked matched her personality, because it’s “also made of sequins, so it just felt right.”

Lourd honored her mother in another way too, through her “something blue,” by wearing Fisher’s blue fire opal ring, the outlet reported. The actress complemented the dress’ neckline and added to the ethereal look with an intricately braided half-up, half-down hairstyle.

Sharing a romantic kiss in the first image shared on social media, the newlyweds posed in the sand at their Cabo San Lucas venue in Mexico on Saturday. The groom sported a sharp Tom Ford tuxedo while Lourd’s closest friends dressed in Halston.

Lourd’s American Horror Story costar Leslie Grossman posted on Instagram, “Billie and Austen got married and it was perfect ✨❤️,” revealing images from the wedding weekend, as well as Lourd’s reception look. According to Grossman’s photos, the bride changed into a plunging high-shine fringe mini dress for the afterparty.

Lourd met her now-husband back in college when the pair studied at NYU in 2011. The couple got engaged in June of 2020 and share 1-year-old son Kingston Fisher Lourd Rydell.

In addition to being the daughter of Star Wars icon, Fisher, and Bryan Lourd, the managing director and co-chairman at Hollywood talent agency CAA, the bride is the granddaughter of Hollywood legend actress Debbie Reynolds and singer Eddie Fisher.
