As one of the esteemed co-chairs at this year’s event, we always knew Billie Eilish was going to knock it out of the park when it came to her outfit for the 2021 Met Gala. But dressed in a nude, corseted tulle gown by Oscar de la Renta, the singer looked literally breathtaking.

Eilish presumably wore a custom creation from the Dominican-born American fashion designer in line with this year’s these, Celebrating In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion. It’s also, interestingly, one of the first times Eilish has worn a dress on the red carpet (she usually favors oversized shorts, jackets and hoodies — a move she purposefully made to ‘hide her body’).

The 2021 Met Gala is also Eilish’s first appearance at the anticipated event. In 2019 she was only 17, making her too young to attend and it was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.

The corseted, waist-cinching shape and airy naked fabric felt distinctly old Hollywood. Eilish also wore her platinum blonde hair in a retro, chin-grazing blow dry, and a sultry, glamorous makeup look. Her creamy skin was offset with a smoky black wing and matte berry lip.

Paired with a substantial stack of diamond rings, Eilish looked like remarkably similar to Marilyn Monroe — a far cry from her usual boyish, exaggerated silhouettes.
