It hasn’t happened to me personally – yet – but I’d have to assume that as a rule of thumb, if Beyoncé invites you to a party you drop everything you’re doing. Even if what you’re doing is taking place at at a prestigious Academy Awards after party surrounded by celebrities.

On Sunday evening in Los Angeles, the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Rihanna, Natalie Portman, Kylie Jenner and Chrissy Teigen did just that, leaving the annual Vanity Fair Oscars party to head to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s ultra-private event. According to E! News, Charlize Theron, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, Jessica Alba, Adele, Kim Kardashian, and Kris Jenner were also in attendance at the A-list party with sources saying the night was themed as an homage to both Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s hometowns of Houston and Brooklyn.

“There were pool tables set up and it was made to feel like a dive bar,” a source told the outlet. “It wasn’t overly extravagant and it seemed like they wanted everyone to feel casual.”

Teigen confirmed that she and her husband, John Legend, popped home to change quickly before going to Bey and Jay’s, but that she was too nervous to actually talk to the hosts. “Beyoncé, if there is any, any way you’re reading this please just know I stare at you and don’t talk because I am truly so nervous to say something stupid,” Teigen wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her second outfit of the night.

Meanwhile, Reese Witherspoon, who recently bonded with the music duo after she went viral for stealing their champagne from their table at the Golden Globes, posted that only Beyoncé can get her out of the house past 11pm. Same, Reese.

Jay-Z and Beyoncé even reportedly gave mini impromptu performances during the night. According to E! News, Beyoncé sang a bit of her song from The Lion King soundtrack, “Brown Skin Girl,” while Jay-Z rapped along to his hit “I Just Wanna Love You.”

“Everyone was dying over this and was jumping up and down loving it. Beyoncé and Jay-Z definitely were putting on a show while playing their greatest hits,” the source told E!. “They took turns passing the mic while blasting their favorite songs from their hits.”
