Okay, as a self-proclaimed horse boy and, of course, Beyoncé stan, I’m sure you can imagine how I felt waking up to Queen Bey’s latest Ivy Park collection teaser. The Houston, Texas, really came out on this one, overjoyed, ecstatic, or maybe Crazy In Love all seem too short of the euphoric moment felt while watching the almost two-minute clip.
In the teaser, we’ve already caught eye of denim chaps, cow print garments, and cowboy hats–all screaming horse girl core, but make it sexy. The latest installment of Beyoncé’s ongoing Adidas partnership is centered around Black cowboys and cowgirls who are often forgotten in western culture. Entitled Ivy Park Rodeo, The collection includes 58 women’s and unisex pieces, five footwear styles, and plenty of accessories.
Naturally, never missing a beat, Beyoncé brings the collection to life, casting actor Glynn Turman and his granddaughter, Melinda, both real-life horse aficionados. Bey herself takes center stage showing off her curvy physique for the rodeo collection. The award-winning singer is seen in some bold denim looks and showed off her lassoing skills, we see you! Singer Snoh Aallegra, model Paloma Elsesser, and rappers Tobe Nwigwe and Monaleo also make cameos in the rodeo collection teaser.
“He says from as long as he could remember, he has had a fascination with horses,” the Ivy Park website reads of Turman. “An accomplished horseman and rodeo champion off-screen, he and his wife, Jo-Ann, cofounded and direct a free Western-style summer camp, ‘Camp Gid D Up’ for inner-city and at-risk youth since 1992. He credits that attending youth camps as a kid saved him from juvenile delinquency.”
August 19 can’t come soon enough, until then watch the teaser below that I’ve had on repeat since it came out. Peruse of all her Ivy Park collection; we expect this one to sell out fast. Like all the Ivy Park collections, the rodeo collection will be offered in inclusive sizing from XXXXS to 4XL.
