It’s the official kick-off to the awards season, and stars didn’t hold back on the red carpet at the 2023 Golden Globes. After the Hollywood Foreign Press Association canceled the televised program last year due to its lack of diversity within the voting collective and the event, the Golden Globes is back — and the stars didn’t skimp on their fashion.

Nominees like Quinta Brunson and Daisy Edgar-Jones wow’ed in moody, curve-hugging looks. Jessica Chastain and Angela Bassett sparkled in shimmering embroidery. Colman Domingo brought shiny suiting, while Eddie Redmayne added eye-catching accessories, and there were so many more must-see moments that we’re breaking down the very best, below.

This year, the 2023 Golden Globes broadcast is hosted by Jerrod Carmichael and all-star presenters include Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Niecy Nash-Betts, Natasha Lyonne, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez and many, many more.

The Banshees of Inisherin leads the night with the most nominations (eight), followed by Everything Everywhere All at Once, Babylon and The Fabelmans. Abbott Elementary leads in the TV categories with five nominations, followed by The White Lotus, Pam & Tommy, The Crown, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and Only Murders in the Building.

Quinta Brunson

The Abbott Elementary creator wow’ed in her ruched tulle custom creation by Christian Siriano. The star sported a strapless curve-hugging black and pink gown with flared mermaid-style hem, teamed with circle drop earrings.

Jessica Chastain

The Oscar-winner was all smiles in her high-shine crystal-covered Oscar de la Renta gown with an embellished intricately-designed creation on top of a beige sheer dress, paired with Gucci rings.

Jenna Ortega

The Wednesday star lightened up her school girl style streak in her Gucci pleated gown with criss-cross cutouts, billowing sleeves and long train. She accessorized with multiple Tiffany & Co. necklaces, rings, ear clip and bracelet.

Angela Bassett

Shining like the winner she is, Angela Bassett wore a silver sequin halter gown by Pamella Roland, with Sarah Flint heels and Chopard earrings featuring 13.66-carats of diamonds and a Chopard bracelet with 85.43-carats of round-shaped and pear-shaped diamonds. The star took home the win for best performance by an actress in a supporting role in any motion picture for her role in Wakanda Forever.

Margot Robbie

Margot was pretty in pink in her custom Chanel gown made with Chantilly lace and silk tulle with a chevron motif embellished with sequins, bugle beads and feathers. The long flared look was inspired from the Fall-Winter 2022/23 Haute Couture collection, and took 750 hours to create with 30,000 pieces of embroidery. She teamed it with Chanel shoes and Chanel Fine Jewelry.

Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor-Joy walked the carpet in a bright yellow bandeau bra top with matching high-waisted skirt by Dior and glam by Dior Beauty. As for her jewels, she accessorized with a Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger Hands necklace with matching bracelet, Tiffany & Co. Schlumberger Cones with Petals ear clips and Tiffany T T1 rings.

Michelle Yeoh

Gleaming in midnight blue, Michelle Yeoh glistened in an Armani Privé strapless gown with tiered peplum embroidered in gradient-effect crystals and sequins, plus Moussaieff Jewellers accessories.

Sheryl Lee Ralph

Sheryl Lee Ralph arrived to the carpet (for her first Golden Globes nomination!) like the queen she is in a custom purple Aliétte gown, chosen to “represent royalty,” as E! reported from designer Jason Rembert. Miniature round sequin embellishments covered laser-cut embroidered palettes in a final look that took 690 hours to create.

Colman Domingo

The Euphoria actor chose a custom Dolce & Gabbana sparkly suit because, as he said on the E! red carpet, “I wanted to feel like a Black diamond — shine tonight like a Black diamond.” He sure did shine in his embellished suit with high-shine shoes featuring bow ties on top, plus David Yurman earrings, rings and bracelet.

Michaela Jaé Rodriguez

“I wanted to give water butterfly today,” the star said on the carpet. “I wanted to be very very flowy, very very beautiful and just give something architectural and fashion. She nailed the look in a deep blue off-the-shoulder draped design by Balmain that gave off the appearance of an oversize bow, paired with Pomellato jewelry.

Michelle Williams

Looking angelic in her ruffled, tiered custom ivory creation from Gucci with beaded trim, the star accessorized with Gucci platforms and Tiffany & Co. Victoria earrings, ring and a Tiffany & Co. archives watch.

Daisy Edgar-Jones

The British actress wore what she called a “very Wednesday Addams” look, in a sultry custom Gucci gown with a corset-style black lace bodice with tiered ruffled skirt, plus a Dionysus clutch and platform heels from the brand.

Eddie Redmayne

When Laverne Cox called his rose accent “whimsical,” on the E! red carpet the actor replied, “I love whimsy.” But clarified that he “definitely did not” make the rose himself. The star wore a Valentino ensemble sans tie, with an OMEGA De Ville Tresor Co-Axial Master watch.

Jennifer Coolidge

Evoking some Italian movie star vibes with her teased hair, the White Lotus star wore a shimmering long-sleeve black Dolce & Gabbana dress with sweetheart-style neckline.

Ana de Armas

The star’s strapless custom Louis Vuitton gown with front paneling featuring embroidery was teamed with diamond earrings and bracelet with green emeralds from Louis Vuitton High Jewelry.

Donald Glover

The one thing the multi-hyphenate star cared most about his outfit? “I just want to be comfortable,” he said on E! Live from the Red Carpet. “It’s YSL. I said ‘put my in something I can sit for three hours in and be mildly drunk and be OK. It’s very relaxed. It’s a robe, it’s not really even a shirt.” He teamed his Saint Laurent “robe” top with matching wide-leg trousers and a black tuxedo jacket with black patent shoes.

Letitia Wright

The high-shine orange hue of Letitia Wright’s Prada gown glistened on the carpet, which matched her color-coordinating sandals. She topped it off with Bulgari pendent earrings in white gold with diamonds and a Bulgari High Jewelry ring.

Lily James

A lady in red, Lily James’ fire engine red Atelier Versace gown stood out with its strapless top with criss-cross straps across the bodice, and ruffled, voluminous train attached to the skirt. She dripped in diamonds in a Harry Winston necklace (featuring over 25 carats of diamonds), plus rings and earrings from the jewelry house.

Austin Butler

The Golden Globe winner for his role in Elvis kept it chic and dapper in a Gucci three-piece tuxedo with satin lapels, white evening shirt, black satin bow tie and ankle boots, plus Cartier accessories.
