The 2020 Billboard Music Awards finally took place on Wednesday, October 14, after being postponed in April due to the coronavirus pandemic. But thankfully, it was worth the wait. Stars brought their fashion A-game, both on the social distance-friendly “red carpet” and onstage to perform and present.
The Billboard Music Awards took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles sans audience. Instead of having a “normal” red carpet, stars posed backstage in front of a step-and-repeat. Let’s face it: that’s as “normal” as it’s going to get for now.
Our favorite look was Nicole Richie’s one-shoulder black floral gown designed by American fashion designer Christian Siriano. The glamorous number was the perfect combination of elegant and sexy. The Billboard presenter wore her hair up to ensure that the dress was the focal point of the whole look — it sure was.
Lizzo wore Siriano, too, but her outfit was entirely different from Richie’s. She went with a statement-making, custom one-shoulder mini dress from his Spring 2021 collection. The vote-themed dress sends a clear message: fulfill your duty as a citizen of the United States this November. Easy.
We’re also obsessing over Lil Nas X’s head-to-toe Gucci look, along with lots of others. Keep scrolling for a look at Grazia’s nine favorite fashion moments from the 2020 Billboard Music Awards.
