Bella Hadid has been sorely missed in the fashion industry over the last year. Since taking a step back from modelling to focus on her health in early 2023, the 27-year-old has been gearing up to make her grand comeback. And with her first magazine cover of 2024, she doesn’t disappoint.
Fronting the latest edition of Perfect magazine, Hadid reemerged for a shoot that featured her personal spin. As shared by the publication’s Instagram cover drop, she not only modelled but also handpicked the team and directed in the studio.
For the shoot, she chose photographer Bryce Anderson and stylist/longtime collaborator Katie Grand, and included screen prints by artist Corbin Shaw throughout. Its art direction was reportedly inspired by an image of Debbie Harry performing in 1978, where she had torn a poster off the venue’s exterior to wear as a a dress. Naturally, Hadid ventured to imitate the look with a poster by Shaw that read, “Absolutely nothing. Nothing. At all.”
Three more covers were released, two featuring t-shirts by Shaw.
After enduring 100 days of intensive treatments for her Lyme disease, Hadid pressed pause on her thriving career to get back to full health. In August 2023, she shared an update with her followers that she was out of treatment and getting ready to return to normal life.
Sharing the covers on her own socials, she captioned an Instagram post with “Back in action. Love you”
Does this mean we’ll be seeing plenty more of Hadid? We hope so.
