Bella Hadid 1950s

From tracksuits to low-rise denim and printed bucket hats, Bella Hadid has arguably been one of Y2K’s most prominent pioneers since the aesthetic came back. This time, the noughties trendsetter took her outfit a few decades back in time to the 1950s during her recent getaway in the south of France.

Following her fashionable parade during couture fashion week in Paris, the supermodel headed to the seaside town of Biarritz. Although off-duty, Hadid packed a major fashion moment (as she typically does) that had us feeling hopelessly devoted to the catsuit trend.

Hadid took to her Instagram to share a series of photos on vacay cruising along the beachfront with her boyfriend, Marc Kalman, during golden hour. Taking in the last few hours before the sun set, Hadid served main character energy as if she was ready to sign up for a reboot of the 1950s romcom Grease (if Danny Zuko and vacationing Sandy Olsson flew off to a European holiday).

She wore a pair of skin-tight pants with a belt around her waist and strapless corset, all of which accentuated her physique. For accessories, she topped the look off with oval sunglasses, kitten slip-on heels, and a sheer scarf wrapped around her neck that blew in the wind (très cinematic!).

The look gave us strong Sandy vibes when the character, played by Olivia Newton John in the 1978 classic, transformed preppy ways and arrived to the carnival in a tight off-the-shoulder top, second skin satin pants (which are now owned by Spanx founder Sara Blakely!) and red heels.

The outfit confirms that nostalgic trends won’t be going anywhere anytime soon — especially if Bella Hadid has any say in it.
