Ariana Grande has finally shared the first official images from the upcoming launch of her makeup line, r.e.m.beauty. The star posted several shots from the highly anticipated brand’s new campaign, which sees Grande rocking her signature ‘futuristic Fembot’ look.
The 34+35 singer’s trademark aesthetic has always been heavily influenced by retro glamour and it looks like her makeup brand is set to follow a similar style. With white eye shadow, a defined crease, winged eyeliner and thick lashes, Grande’s look was quintessentially Mod girl, with a frosted pink lip and icy highlighter to finish.
The star, whose brand has been two years in the making, recently revealed that her first product drop will centre on eye makeup, so the detailed eyeshadow and liner look showcased in the new r.e.m.beauty visuals hints at what we can expect to see in the launch.
As Grande revealed, the eye makeup range will include a mascara, fine-point eyeliner markers, false lashes, and matte and glitter liquid eye shadows. “[The eyes are] our main storytellers and sources of communication. I feel like you can emote more with your eyes than you can articulate sometimes,” she explained to Allure, adding that they are “our main gateways to our dreams, our emotions, our everything.”
It also makes sense that the brand would begin with eye makeup considering the name, r.e.m.beauty, stands for the rapid eye movement stage of deep sleep. It’s also not surprising that the 60s space-age looks in the campaign would follow Grande’s own nostalgic vibe.
“I’ve always sort of gravitated towards the ’50s and ’60s and ’70s for glamour references. I’ve always pictured myself in a different time period. I’ve always wanted to wear that makeup, wear that hair, wear those outfits, be those performers,” she said.
While we still don’t have an official launch date just yet, Grande hints that r.e.m.beauty is landing very soon.
We can’t wait!
