Ahead of her new Sweetener Concealer launch tomorrow, R.E.M. Beauty founder Ariana Grande gave fans a rare glimpse of her bare-faced skin with a glowy makeup-free selfie to showcase her beauty routine.
Posting to her Stories (followed by Reels) on Monday, Grande shared a short video, fresh-faced, with her hair tied back, wearing a strapless lace bandeau, holding a mug, giving a little smirk, writing “before” and tagging her cosmetics line. The Positions artist followed the clip with a sideways selfie, showcasing a glowing makeup look with glossed lips and her signature mile-long lashes, writing “after!!!”
Promoting R.E.M.’s Chapter 4: “Out of Body,” the Don’t Look Up star posted a get-ready-with-me video, applying her makeup and specifically highlighting the brand’s new Sweetener Concealer, named after her 2018 album. Available tomorrow, the singer wrote that the new product has been, “Developed with love and formulated with thoughtful ingredients for you and your skin.”
“I’ve been using it secretly for a year now,” Grande divulged. “We’ve developed 60 shades of the Sweetener Concealer, including two artistry shades of black and white. It’s also our first product that features our R.E.M. Essence — hyaluronic acid and raspberry leaf extract.” The “Thank U, Next” singer went on to add, “I like knowing that its hydrating and nourishing my skin while I’m wearing it. A little goes a long way.”
According to the brand, its “proprietary R.E.M. hydrasmooth essence” is “powered by hyaluronic acid (for a boost of hydration), ashwagandha (known to help protect from environmental stressors) + vitamin E (for antioxidant protection).”
As Grande prepares for the launch tomorrow, she is also gearing up for her forthcoming role as Glinda in the Wicked film adaptation opposite Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba, set to release in 2024. At the 2022 SAG Awards in February, Erivo describes working alongside Grande as “delightful.”
