The luxury jewelry brand, Bulgari, just dropped its latest ad campaign and accompanying short film, Unexpected Wonders, starring actresses Anne Hathaway (which marks her debut as a brand ambassador) and Zendaya (a longtime spokesperson of the Italian jeweler).

Directed by The Young Pope‘s Oscar-winning Paolo Sorrentino, Bulgari’s new “brand movie” features both stars admiring their dazzling jewels from the new High Jewelry collection, as they lounge around a villa overlooking Rome (a continued “source of inspiration” for the brand, the release states). Throughout the film, the two play piano, dance, lounge by a waterfall, and take in the sights of the property, all while looking right at home in their Bulgari jewels.

Hathaway wears High Jewelry creations including Serpenti pieces, as well as gems and timepieces from the Divas’ Dream collection. As for the Euphoria actress, Zendaya graces the screen in High Jewelry works of art, with the B.zero1 and BB collection. “I feel incredibly grateful to be here, and today I get to wear a sapphire, which is my birthstone, so that is very special,” Zendaya said in a between-the-scenes video shared by the brand.

“There’s no bad angle of Rome. I love coming here. You just look around and there’s always something new to see,” said Zendaya. According to Hathaway, “You can’t think your way through Rome. You have to open yourself up. You have to almost sense your way through it.”

Sorrentino said the title, Unexpected Wonder, “fits the characteristics of a city like Rome.” Adding, “Two wonderful actresses, and they immediately turn into this feeling of the unexpected, that the location and the city gave them.”

Bulgari cements its status as a “jeweler of the stars” by tapping a few more famous faces for the ad campaign. Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, BLACKPINK’s Lisa, and Chinese actress Shu Qi all model the brand’s jewelry and watches along with Zendaya and Hathaway.

“When I think of the group of women that they’ve had representing them in the past, it’s just such an honor to be a part of their legacy,” Hathaway said in BTS footage.

Hathaway made heads turn last week, wearing a 100,000-carat Bulgari necklace to the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival.

The Les Misérables actress arrived in a classic, white sequined Armani Privé column gown, with a shawl-train combo — and there was no missing her stunning Bulgari Mediterranean Reverie necklace inlaid with a fantastic blue cushion cut stone from Sri Lanka.

Her new Bulgari ambassador gig clearly suits the superstar.
