We just can’t help but wonder what’s in store for our favorite leading ladies when the next season of the Sexy and the City reboot, And Just Like That, returns. So while we wait for the first glimpse of paparazzi shots when filming starts, we’re rounding up everything we know so far about the highly anticipated second season.

In the season finale of And Just Like That we saw Carrie Bradshaw, played by Sarah Jessica Parker, texting Samantha Jones, formerly played by Kim Cattrall, asking to meet while she was in Paris spreading Mr. Big’s ashes.

Michael Patrick King, the showrunner of the HBO Max series, told Variety that he and his writing team are planning to work Samantha into the storyline more, despite confirming that Cattrall will not return to the show.

King divulged what happened after Carrie met up with Samantha saying, “It’s very funny, because every single one of the writers has a different version of what happened during that conversation.”

He continued, “So, I think there was some Champagne. I think there was a grownup back and forth, and a love affair that they realized that something’s more important than being afraid to heal. I’m sure they had a great night. To me, they had a great night and things became resolved. Once Carrie let go of an old, old love, one of her current loves came back in.”

King did not reveal too many details that would give the upcoming season away, saying, “It’s all so new right now.” He continued, “My goal is to bring all the characters into the mix together, so that they’re not so much on separate runways.”

Just recently, Parker spoke opened up about where she stands with Cattrall after a “painfully” riff. Parker told The Hollywood Reporter, “It’s so painful for people to keep talking about this ‘catfight’ — a ‘fight,’ a ‘fight,’ a ‘fight.’ I’ve never uttered fighting words in my life about anybody that I’ve worked with — ever. There is not a ‘fight’ going on.”

So when will the series finally come back to screens? King told Variety that production will begin in October 2022, so the new season may be ready to stream by summer 2023. Stay tuned for more updates!
