In the latest episode of And Just Like That, changes and transitions are everywhere we turn. Charlotte’s daughters want to redecorate their room, Carrie changes apartments (again), and considers getting a face lift- essentially erasing the last 15 years. Dubbed Diwali, episode 6 of the Sex and the City reboot sees our favorite characters experience a plethora of revelations, ultimately leading each of them, in their own way, to accept both their circumstances and themselves for who they truly are. Ultimately realizing that erasing the last 15 years through cosmetic surgery would mean metaphorically erasing an era of growth and happiness, Carrie decides to accept her age and her life as it is right now. Fully expressed through their expertly curated wardrobes, each character finds their way back to their truest selves.

Here, GRAZIA places a spotlight on the best fashion moments of episode 6 of And Just Like That.

As Carrie contemplates leaving her “perfectly worn-in cashmere sweater of apartments” behind, she winds up buying an ultra-modern, palatial downtown flat filled with natural light. Resembling Halston’s iconic showroom, Carrie dons a nightingale-brown velvet blazer over a marine blue silk button-down, with matching checkered trousers, knee-high boots, and a blue and pink color-blocked croc clutch to scope the place out with Anthony and Seema. Taking a walk in the wild side, Seema owns the room (as usual) in her velvet leopard print Etro suit for the final walk-through.

Lounging around reading Gabriel Krauze’s new book Who They Was, Carrie snuggles up with a glass of red wine, a grey and purple printed Jacquard Knit Cardigan Stella McCartney sweater from her Spring/Summer 2022 collection and her Gabriela Hearst “Lauren” rainbow knit cashmere fringe wrap.

As Miranda and her professor Dr. Nya Wallace take a little coffee break in the park, Miranda dons a burnt orange turtleneck beneath a charcoal grey Serino Studio “Jean” knit jacket, and a black Loewe leather waistband asymmetric midi skirt with her Shinola “Runwell” camel-colored leather backpack in tow.

Dr. Wallace coordinates her golden Needles+ “Poly” track jacket and matching “Narrow” track pants with a bright turquoise turtleneck beneath. Providing a masterclass in layering, the professor topped off her look with an Iro Paris “Gabyn” blue plaid cotton shirt, and mahogany JW Anderson chain-embellished leather loafers.

Fascinated with the traditional Indian holiday Diwali, Carrie tags along on a shopping trip for Seema to find a new sari to attend the Hindu celebration. Noting that her family will chastise her for attending alone, the two decide Carrie could benefit from a party honoring light’s triumph over dark, making her Seema’s plus-one.

Rocking a yellow and pink printed Rianna and Nina “Kendima” exclusive embroidered caftan, Seema pairs the statement piece with a burgundy trousers, a beige button-down, gold accessories, and brown leather Louboutin “Ziptotal” booties. Also working burgundy accents, Carrie’s shopping ensemble is a lesson in color coordination. Matching her grey button-down Maison Margiels sweater with her taupe Lemaire trench and Larose Paris zip pin fedora, her vintage a-line skirt tied in all of the greys and reds through it multicolored stripes, making her cherry red mules the metaphorical cherry on top of a pristinely curated outfit.

Sparking both joy and two major millinery moments, Carrie and Charlotte go through Carrie’s storage unit, leaving only with a hat, a lamp, and a frying pan, once it gets a bit too emotional. As Charlotte advises Carrie to channel the expertise of Marie Kondo, Carrie discovers her favorite sunhat packed away, noting that now, with all of her windows and natural light, “she’s not just fashion- she’s survival.”

Coming together for a picnic in the park, our favorite trio experience a wealth of revelations. With Carrie expertly working a vintage Gucci wine-colored pinstriped oversized tailored suit, she of course paired the look with Manolo Blahnik black “BB” leather pumps.

In typical Charlotte style, Ms. York Goldenblatt dons a coral floral pussy bow silk chiffon blouse by Gucci paired with a black pencil skirt, and her Brandon Blackwood “Keui”  forest green handbag in tow.

Ready for Seema’s family Diwali celebration, Carrie dons a traditional Indian garment. Opting for Falguni Shane Peacock’s intricately embroidered “Lekha” lehenga set, Carrie finishes off her look with floral fuschia hair accessories throughout her long braid. Seema, on the other hand, sports Tarun Tahiliani’s printed organza sari with a fitted gold top beneath.

After realizing that she doesn’t need a face lift and admitting that the spacious and modern downtown loft is not for her, she emerges from her iconic apartment in a quintessentially Carrie look. Donning pearls and voluminous red midi dress with rose bust appliques beneath one of Big’s blazers, her ensembles exemplifies the character’s style identity, symbolizing a form of closure in Big’s unexpected death, and acceptance of who she is.
