Ami Opening
Exclusive polaroids by Vincenzo Dimino for GRAZIA

The Parisian contemporary label, Ami has finally made its way to New York. Last week founder, Alexandre Mattiussi celebrated his coming to America in a not so subtle bash at one of New York’s most iconic landmarks: the Empire State Building. What better way to make a statement for an exciting new venture than quite literally taking on new heights? Not to mention the famed building seems to be fashion’s latest hottest venue — LaQuan Smith also presented his Spring-Summer 2022 collection last season on the roof.

Despite the party being hosted on a Thursday (and a surprisingly busy night of fashion events), the fashion crowd showed out to support the beloved french brand — once inside, it was easy to understand why. Perched 78 floors above the city, Ami transformed a vacant commercial space into one of the chicest nightlife lounges we’ve seen in a while. The enormous room was complete with three bars on each side, two stages, and of course, a dedicated VIP section where guests including Emily Ratajkowski, Joe Jonas, Camilla Mendes, Normani, Joan Smalls, Ella Emhoff, Noah Beck, Nyle Dimarco, Parker Kit Hill, Aquaria, and more mingled.

Partygoers celebrated with passed hors d’oeuvre and specialty cocktails that seemed to be flowing all night long. As for entertainment, Mattiussi brought out The Kid Laroi, who at only 18 years old has already had such a successful career performing with the likes of Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus. Guest quickly made their way to the stage once word of the artist had arrived quickly made its way around the room. The Kid Laroi took the stage with manhattan’s skyline twinkling in the background. He performed a set that really got the crowd going, including hits “Stay” and “Without You.” So it’s not much of a surprise that the party went into the early AM, indeed making getting up the next day quite a task, but oh-so worth it.

Ahead, check out polaroids of the night’s star-studded guest taken by Vincenzo Dimino exclusively for GRAZIA.
