Megan Thee Stallion

The 2020 American Music Awards (aka The AMAs) rocked the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 22. Hosted by Taraji P. Henson, the 48th annual event recognized the most popular artists and albums of the year.

The nominees were officially announced back in October on Good Morning America by Dua Lipa, with Roddy Ricch and The Weeknd being the most nominated artists with eight, followed by Megan Thee Stallion with five.

Taylor Swift took home the trophies for Artist Of The Year, Favorite Female Artist Pop/Rock and Music Video Of The Year while Doja Cat was named New Artist Of The Year. BTS took home Favorite Social Artist and Best Duo/Group Pop/Rock. The Weeknd swept the Soul/R&B categories taking home Favorite Song, Favorite Album Soul/R&B and Favorite Male Artist. Justin Bieber was bestowed with the Favorite Male Artist Pop/Rock award and Collaboration Of The Year along with Dan + Shay for their hit single “10,000 Hours.”

Other big winners included Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, Kane Brown, Maren Morris, Juice WRLD, Blake Shelton, Nicki Minaj, Roddy Ricch, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Bad Bunny, Becky G, Twenty One Pilots, The Jonas Brothers, Lauren Daigle and Lady Gaga.
