From haute couture to couch couture, Australian model Adut Akech has, like everyone else, left the high flying world of fashion to socially distance at home during the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis. A far cry from her typically designer dress code, the model has shared an image of her at Home Sweet Home, dressed in a go-to quarantine uniform for many: a towel. She’s told her followers she’s having a self-care night, sitting by a salt lamp, drinking something out of a bedazzled Versace sippy cup and wearing a DIY face mask.

At the request of her followers, Akech has kindly shared her facial recipe using pantry staples like lemon juice, turmeric and honey. According to a comment, the model is using the mask to clear up dark spots: “I have dark spots and scars from old pimples. I hear that this works so fingers crossed,” she wrote.

While lemon juice and apple cider vinegar can be irritating to some skins, the mask is all-natural and will offer a mild exfoliation, not to mention the nourishing and antibacterial properties from the honey (making it great for breakout-prone complexions). If your skin is sensitized, omit the ACV and lemon, and try slathering on manuka honey with turmeric instead. Happy at-home masking indeed.
