It’s a glam slam! Hollywood’s hottest stars of film stepped out to the 97th annual Academy Awards on Sunday, March 2, at the Dolby Theater. After a long awards season that started with major, movie-star glamour at the Golden Globes followed by creative cool at the Grammys and decidedly soft, quiet luxe at the SAG Awards, the Oscars red carpet was an apt culmination of awards season 2025.
Celebs brought their style A-game, wearing impossible chic attire and showing off enviable beauty details. The general vibe gave a nod to Old Hollywood glam, with sleek, glossy hair — whether slicked back, piled high, or coaxed into sculpted waves — and pretty in pink lips emerging as the trends we’ll wear into spring and beyond!
Without further ado, behold the best and the brightest hair and makeup at the 2025 Oscars!
Selena Gomez

The Emilia Perez stunner looked spectacular and sophisticated wearing a coiffed bob styled by Renato Campora using Joico products. The mane master “channeled the timeless elegance of a glamorous Hollywood movie star.” He ran Joico JoiWhip Firm Hold Design Foam through locks before creating a deep side part and “polished pin curls.” A spritz of Joico Humidity Blocker + Protective Finishing Spray locked in a lasting finish.
Lupita Nyong’o

Making a colorful entrance! The Wild Robot star’s longtime makeup artist, Nick Barose, turned to Chanel Beauty to create a jewel-toned look reminiscent of “the ultra-glamorous ’90s Chanel runway shows,” he says. To add a “a pop of color to her cheeks,” he blended Chanel Joues Contraste Intense Cream-to-Powder Blush in Grenat Profond from cheekbones out towards ears. For the sparkling emerald eyeshadow, he topped Chanel Ombre Essentielle Multi-Use Longwearing Eyeshadow in Menthe à L’eau with Chanel Ombre Essentielle Multi-Use Top Coat in Blanc Perle. To create the unique berry lip hue, the glam guru blended Chanel Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue Ultrawear Liquid Lip Colour in Milky Blueberry with Chanel Rouge Coco Baume Shine Hydrating Beatifying Tinted Lip Balm – Buildable Colour in Charming Lilac. There was a Chanel-coded element to the hair, too. Hair pro Vernon Francois sewed pearls into the back of Nyong’o’s bun!
Demi Moore

A blast from the past! For The Substance lead’s extra-long locks, hairstylist Dimitri Giannetos took inspiration from a photoshoot the icon did for the cover of Vogue shot by Mario Testino in the early 2000s. To recreate the sexy yet powerful tresses, he prepped hair with Moroccanoil Root Boost and Perfect Defense Heat Protectant before blowdrying with the Dyson Supersonic. He set every section with the Dyson Corrale styler straightener and locked in the look with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray.
Cynthia Erivo

The Wicked star showed off enviably creamy skin with bleached brows and bold lashes. Turns out her radiance was powered by Clinique’s just-launched Moisture Surge Active Glow Serum. In fact, makeup artist Joanna Simkin used Clinique for Erivo’s full face. To complete the powerful gaze, she relied on High Impact Shadow Play Shadow + Definer in Rum & Cola before lining lids with High Impact Gel Tech Eyeliner in Intense Black. A few coats of High Impact High-Fi Volume Mascara in Intense Black made for a wink-worthy finish.
MIKEY madison

A winning look, indeed! It wasn’t just the excitement of winning Best Actress that got the Anora star glowing; her makeup artist Melissa Hernandez prepped her skin with the CurrentBody Skin Series 2 LED Face Mask to “boost radiance and create the perfect base for makeup,” she says. The look, which was inspired by “Mikey’s dress giving Breakfast at Tiffany’s energy with its classic, elegant and timeless feel,” but with amped up drama, was created with Armani Beauty products. She enhanced the complexion with Armani Fluid Sheer Enhancer in shade 2 before blending on Luminous Silk Foundation in shades 1.5 and 3. The smoky eye was a result of Hernandez smudging Armani Eye Tint Long-Lasting Eyeshadow in shade 99M from the base of the lash line up and out. As for her sleek, center-parted updo, hair pro Rena Calhoun fortified locks with Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dry Spun Texture Spray to add grit before styling with the Shark FlexFusion.
Zoe SaldañA

With a preternatural glow and a decidedly joyous vibe, the winner for Best Supporting Actress stole our hearts — and our desire for longer, fuller, shinier locks. The Emilia Perez star’s longtime hair pro, Mara Roszak, added a couple of rows of Covet and Mane Brunette Extensions in Portofino and Dubai. She styled the look with products from her RŌZ hair line, starting with a spritz of Root Lift Spray at the roots and Air Thickening Spray to damp mid lengths through ends, plus a pump of Santa Lucia Styling Oil on ends before blow drying with the Dyson Supersonic, then fashioning into pincurls to add wave. She finished with a dab of the Styling Oil to heighten shine. Now, back to that glow! Before the ceremony, Saldaña saw aesthetician-to-the-stars Lord Gavin McLeod-Valentine for a The Method by Augustinus Bader facial. On the big night, the star’s makeup artist, Vera Steimberg, prepped her complexion with high tech tools. The CurrentBody Skin Series 2 LED Mask and LED Neck & Décolletage Mask heightened luminosity to help the makeup guru “accomplish the glowy look.” She then added color using Armani Beauty products. Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzing Powder in shade 110, Luminous Silk Cheek Tint in shade 62, and Luminous Silk Glow Blush in 51 and 52 added dimension to the overall radiance. The subtly shimmering lids were done with Eye Tint Long-Lasting Liquid Eyeshadow in shades 10S, 56S, and 44S.

For The Substance actress’ “French girl chic à la Inès de La Fressange meets Jane Birkin,” makeup artist Tyron Machhausen paired subtly sexy dewy lids with a soft rose lip. On the eyes, he used shades from the Chanel Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow palette in Clair-Obscur, then dotted the center of lids with Chanel Baume Essentiel Multi-Use Glow Stick in Transparent “for extra glow.” For the lip: Chanel Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue Ultrawear Liquid Lip Colour in Soft Rose anchored with Chanel Le Crayon Lèvres Longwear Lip Pencil in Pivoine.

The Nosferatu star’s makeup artist, Nina Park, balanced the retro Veronica Lake-inspired hair (styled by Bryce Scarlett using Tresemmé!) with a modern “graphic, dark-rimmed eye that defined the eyes with depth.” She used Chanel Beauty to create the look, laying a foundation on lids with Chanel Stylo Ombre et Contour Eyeshadow – Liner Khôl in Contour Clair before rimming waterlines and lashlines with Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Noir Intense. For added impact, she relied on two mascaras: Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir and Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara Multi-Dimensionnel Sophistiqué in Noir.
Scarlett Johansson

The actress and entrepreneur glowed thanks to skin prep using products from her line, The Outset. Makeup artist Mary Phillips smoothed on the Firming Vegan Collagen Prep Serum “to add radiance and create a protecting barrier for a flawless makeup application.” A dose of Nourishing Squalene Daily Moisturizer topped the serum to heighten moisture. She even added the skincare to color. “For extra glow and a boost of hydration, I mixed a few drops of Ultralight Moisture-Boosting Oil into her foundation,” Phillips says. The move kept Johanssen’s skin “fresh and luminous all night long.”
Felicity Jones

Simply stunning! To give The Brutalist actress a subtle smolder, makeup artist Gina Kane used Lisa Eldridge products. She created a “soft contour” using shades from the VEGA Eye Palette, dotting the “lighter, more metallic” hues in the center of lids and at inner corners. She then added “a dense, creamy line” along the top lashes using Seamless Glide Eye Pencil. Below the lashes, she blended a touch of Burnt Umber. Lashes were curled, and two coats of Kitten Lash mascara in black enhanced both upper and lower lashes.
Mindy Kaling

Ahead of the Oscars ceremony, the Never Have I Ever creator saw celebrity facialist Iván Pol (AKA The Beauty Sandwich) for his signature snatching treatment.
Elle Fanning

For the Complete Unknown actress: A perfect retro-Hollywood look with rosy cheeks and winged liner by makeup artist Erin Ayanian using L’Oreal Paris products.
Ariana Grande

A candy-colored dream! The Wicked star’s makeup artist, Michael Anthony, used products from her very own r.e.m. beauty line to create the cheerful look. He blended Eclipse Blush + Lipstick in Matinee to the apples of cheeks. For the eyes, he used shades from the Babydoll and Wicked Ozdust Eyeshadow Palettes. As for the gorgeous iridescent lip, Anthony topped the Practically Permanent Lip Stain Marker in Booked and Busy with a blended coat of Plumping Lip Gloss in two hues: Pink Razor and Chuckie.
