Anya Taylor-Joy is never one to shy away from a statement-making style moment, and for her recent red carpet appearance, she got into character and found an unlikely sartorial muse in her latest character, Princess Peach. Taylor-Joy arrived at the premiere for the new film The Super Mario Bros Movie in Los Angeles, channeling the iconic video game character — with a little edge.

Taylor-Joy stepped out in a head-to-toe pinky-peach ensemble that packed a punch (literally, because she showed off some action-hero moves as she posed). She chose a custom Christian Dior racing suit that featured the name of the French fashion house printed down the arms, complete with elbow pads, matching moto gloves and a dual-toned pink belt, teamed with hot pink chunky platform rubber boots. The color matched Princess Peach’s iconic peach ball gown, but Taylor-Joy gave it a revved up approach in her racing suit.

Taylor-Joy styled her long platinum blonde strands down in loose waves with a middle-part and sported a luminescent complexion with a dark smokey eye and black rimmed eyeliner, plus a glossy fuchsia pink lip.

Taylor-Joy voices Princess Peach in the new animated feature and told the GamesRadar Inside Total Film podcast that Peach is an “empowered woman” in the new film, rather than her previous status as a damsel in distress. In fact, she helps save the day along with her other Mario Kart friends. Joining Taylor-Joy voicing the beloved cartoons is Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Jack Black and Keegan-Michael Key.

The Super Mario Bros Movie comes out April 5.
