There’s more to Gucci’s visit to Los Angeles than just shutting down Hollywood boulevard for its Love Parade runway show on Tuesday. Although an iconic production, creative director Alessandro Michele has a few more things on his agenda before flying back off to Milano. There’s not much I can think of that’s better than an unexpected Macaulay Culkin appearance on the runway. However, Gucci announced that Gucci Changemakers North America is opening up another round of applications for its grants and scholarships is giving him a run for his money.

Gucci first launched the funding program in 2019 to bring social change within diverse communities and give a voice to the next generation. On its third round of applications, Gucci Changemakers North America will include the Changemakers Impact Fund for nonprofit organizations and the Gucci Scholars program for talented graduating high-school seniors and undergraduate and community college students.

The 2022 Gucci Changemakers Impact Fund will support 12 nonprofit organizations across different cities with one-year grants of $50,000 each. The luxury brand is looking to award funding for organizations focused on creating positive social impact through the arts, health, education, and justice. The winners of the Impact Fund’s next round will receive grants beginning in April 2022.

The Gucci Changemakers Scholarship Program will award up to 10 young and talented students across the United States with a $20,000 one-year scholarship. Applicants should be students planning to or already enrolled into a four-year or two-year university within the country who are actively making a change in their communities while furthering their education. Special consideration is given to students who live in one of the 12 Changemaker cities: Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Toronto, or Washington D.C. or planning to attend a Historical Black College or University.

To get the word out, Gucci Changemakers has partnered with writer, producer, and director Sage Dolan-Sandrino, co-director Kam, and cinematographer Chance Chamblin to create a film for the third round of applications. The film is voiced by previous Gucci Changemakers scholars and youth community members, articulating the importance and power of art and creativity as revolutionary tools for radical change. Ahead, watch the film and learn more about the third round of the Gucci North America Changemakers Programs here, Scholarship Program and Impact Fund.
