In case you missed it (we all did) Brenda Song was pregnant by Home Alone star, Macaulay Culkin. Today, the couple confirmed they welcomed their first child, a boy named Dakota, on April 5.
“We’re overjoyed,” the couple said in a statement obtained by CNN and first reported by Esquire.
Dakota is named after Culkin’s late sister who died in 2008 after being struck by a car in Los Angeles – she was 29.
Unbeknown to many, Song and Culkin first sparked relationship rumors back in 2017 when they met on the set of Changeland, directed by mutual friend, Seth Green. “I didn’t see that one coming,” Green told Esquire in 2020. In the same interview, Culkin admitted his fear of not being good enough clouded the relationship, almost ending it.
He was, he says, waiting for the other shoe to drop. “And it’s always gonna drop,” he said. “Something bad’s gonna happen. Someone’s gonna die!”
In 2018, Culkin had a case of baby fever and spoke to Joe Rogan about having children.
“I’m gonna make some babies,” he said on a 2018 episode of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. “This one’s a good one, so I’m probably going to put some babies in her in a little bit. I mean, we’ve definitely been practicing.”
While we’re a little taken aback, it seems this was planned for some time.
Culkin’s last A-list relationship was with Mila Kunis. The couple first linked in 2002 and dated for eight years before parting ways. Speaking on the relationship, Kunis said, “You find a steady rock in your life, and that’s all you need. We have our ups and downs, but work through them.”
Kunis went on to reconnect with fellow That 70s Show star, Ashton Kutcher. And it appears all parties involved are happier than ever.
