After a delayed release due to the SAG-AFTRA, the sequel to Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic, Dune 2, is finally about to land in theatres. (Though the presence of the nightmare-fueling Dune 2 popcorn bucket at your local cinema might have already made you aware of this fact.)

While the press tour way back in December—draw your attention to Zendaya’s anatomical lobster Schiaparelli skirt that delivered sandworm couture to CCXP should you have momentarily forgotten—promotions have cultivated with the cast gathering for the first of many premieres in Mexico City.

Continuing her style reign of sartorially referencing her character, Zendaya led the cast in a masterful display of intergalactic glamour. For the occasion, the upcoming Challangers star donned a custom Torishéju set inspired by a look from the British-Nigerian-Brazilian designer’s debut runway show. With the collection titled ‘Fire On The Mountain’, Zendaya hints at Dune’s action-packed run time with her sculptural set, spherical accents and delicious draping of slate grey, charcoal and melange red jersey.

Florence Pugh also emulated the tone set by the Emmy winner, opting for a custom-made crop top and maxi skirt two-piece by London-based label Galvan. Pugh reunited with her Little Women co-star, Timothée Chalamet for the project, where she stars as Princess Irulan, a Bene Gesserit royal who serves as an antithesis to Zendaya’s Feman character Chani in Paul’s messianic journey.

Another newcomer is Austin Butler, who plays the ruthless and vengeful Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen. Unlike the campy costumes from David Lynch’s 1984 adaption, Butler appeared unrecognisable as the bald, almost albino villain. Thankfully, the red carpet bore no resemblance to his on-screen counterpart. Rather, Butler delivered a clean-cut look taken straight out of the 1940s—the era his latest project, Masters Of The Air, was set in.

The Dune 2 cast will reunite in London on February 15th for the second premiere at Leicester Square. If this template is anything to go by, we can find solace in knowing the panoply of otherworldly couture will continue across the galaxy. To infinity and beyond.
