Something very bizarre is happening on the internet this week and no, I’m not talking about Megan Fox’s recent engagement announcement. Following a very messy breakup with Gigi Hadid in October, it seems Zayn Malik has activated the dating apps and is reportedly looking to meet a “big beautiful women”. But erm, we can’t be sure.
A man who looks very much like the former One Direction member (with a thick beard) took to the dating platform WooPlus where he participated in an emoji challenge. The name on the profile is “Zed” and according to the app he is based in Ottsville, Philadelphia. According to the website, it is a “dating app for curvy people to find and enjoy love.”
While we can’t be sure it is the singer WooPlus requires users to verify their identity with facial recognition technology, making the account very possibly the real thing. Additionally, he was living in Pennsylvania while he dated Hadid meaning the location on the profile is pretty accurate too. Nonetheless it appears that the 29-year-old has moved on fairly quickly from his former supermodel girlfriend.
The pair who share one-year-old daughter Khai, split after he was accused of physical and mental abuse against Hadid and her mother Yolanda during a family dispute last year. A police report was filed where he plead “no contest” to the charges. Malik has since been forced to undergo 360 days of probation and complete anger management and domestic violence programs.
He denies all allegations. “I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private,” the pop star said at the time in a statement.
There was a fleeting moment where we thought Hadid and Malik may have reunited. In December, social media gossip account @DeuxMoi received a submission claiming that the pair were seen together in Philadelphia. That rumour was squashed.
