MICHAEL BOULOS POPPED THE QUESTION TO TIFFANY TRUMP WITH A DIAMOND FROM DUBAI

When you’re the daughter of the president of the USA and you’re named Tiffany, there’s probably an expectation that your engagement ring will more than likely come in a blue-hued box from a certain Fifth Avenue emporium in New York City.

Not so for Tiffany Trump, who said, “Yes!” to her Lebanese fiancé Michael Boulos with a diamond from Dubai, making the announcement on social media on her father’s last official day in office. “It has been an honour to celebrate many milestones, historic occasions and create memories with my family here at the White House, none more special than my engagement to my amazing fiancé Michael Boulos,” Tiffany – whose mother is Trump’s second wife, model Marla Maples – gushed. “Feeling blessed and excited for the next chapter!”

Tiffany’s 13ct emerald-cut diamond engagement ring is flanked by a pair of elegant matching step cut trapezoid diamonds. The stone is said to be an H in colour, VVS in clarity and certified by the GIA.

“We would have made Tiffany’s ring for around the US$690k mark”

Experts have estimated the cost of Tiffany’s ring to be US$1-$1.2 million, but  Fergus James, a British private jeweller based in Dubai, disagrees. According to Fergus James – who sources diamonds for high-profile clients from his design studio in Dubai at fraction of the cost of retail – “We would have made Tiffany’s ring for around the US$690k mark. Because we source GIA certified diamonds, which is the same as all the high-end retail chains, customers are guaranteed a super high-quality standard without the retail price tag.”
