It was an extension of the ‘Power Dressing’ motifs seen throughout the collection itself: big blazers with exaggerated shoulders, sharp shirts, graphic stripes and coats that were larger than life.
The distinctly ’80s feel came through in the beauty colour palette specifically. A motley crew of crimson red, icy blue, rich aubergine and shocking pink were painted across cheeks, eyes and lips, while lashes were coated in either frosty orange or deep navy mascara. Skin was clean and raw, while brows were fluffed with clear gel only.
And for those of us who can’t be bothered with the fiddly eye makeup, a weighty pair of mirrored aviators (as seen on the runway) is the perfect powerful alternative.
Hair was worn either sleek and shiny, naturally textured or brushed back into a masculine coif. It was the embodiment of bold boardroom beauty, only with a haute couture twist.
