Breast Cancer Awareness Month marks October in our yearly calendars – a time dedicated not only to raising awareness around a complex issue in women’s health, but to honouring the strength of the women who have faced it. Each year, communities around the world come together to champion women affected by breast cancer – and the UAE is no exception.
In a region where women are deeply celebrated as the foundations of family and community, the month offers another opportunity to honour their resilience, wisdom and strength. Across the Emirates, initiatives are turning awareness into action, from Pinktober by the Al Jalila Foundation, a non-profit medical philanthropy organisation by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to the Pink Caravan initiative by His Highness Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi. Here’s how the UAE is coming together to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
A Campaign That Blooms With Purpose

To mark the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Atlantis The Palm has unveiled an exclusive collaboration with Jo Malone London, aptly titled ‘Blooming With Purpose’. The afternoon tea will begin on Friday, October 2 and run throughout the month. The experience invites guests to an intimate gathering centred on education, awareness and indulgence, creating space for meaningful conversations around the strength of women who have experienced breast cancer.
An Afternoon Tea At The Westin

The Westin has partnered with the Al Jalila Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, hosting a dedicated afternoon tea at The Conservatory. In support of the Foundation’s Pinktober campaign, the experience features a selection of delicate pastries and savoury treats, alongside a curated selection of teas, available every day throughout October. Guests can choose between The Conservatory’s classic Royal Afternoon Tea, served with a glass of champagne, or a dedicated children’s menu, making the occasion suitable for family outings. Priced at Dhs200 per person, 10 per cent of the proceeds will be donated to the Al Jalila Foundation in support of the initiative.
Together For More by Carine

An opportunity to contribute, connect and create meaningful change, Carine has partnered with the Al Jalila Foundation in support of cancer research and awareness. The restaurant is launching ‘Together For More’, an initiative supporting women’s and men’s cancer awareness, with a spotlight on breast cancer throughout October. Rooted in the belief that even a small individual contribution can lead to something far greater, the initiative focuses on bringing the community together for thoughtful conversations around women’s health. The campaign invites guests to make their meal part of a wider effort, with a Dhs100 contribution going entirely to the Al Jalila Foundation to support cancer research. The campaign reflects a thoughtful spirit, centred on creating meaningful change through community.
A meaningful gathering with your community at Le Méridien

In partnership with the Al Jalila Foundation, Bounty Beets at Le Méridien is marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a dedicated Pinktober Business Lunch. The three-course menu includes a choice of starter, main course and dessert, alongside a beverage. Ten per cent of the proceeds will be donated to the Foundation, with the experience available daily throughout October from 12pm to 4pm. This October, gather your community around the table in support of a meaningful cause and a vital initiative in the landscape of women’s health, for Dhs95.
The Pink Caravan Initiative
Founded in 2011 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, founder of the non-profit organisation Friends of Cancer Patients, the Pink Caravan has become a staple of breast cancer awareness in the UAE. The initiative embodies the values of healthcare and prevention, highlighting the importance of early detection and self-examination. Moving beyond simply spreading awareness through a sea of pink, the caravan provides an array of free services, including mammograms, clinical examinations and education on self-examination.
Running for a cause with ADCB
Spreading hope beyond the ribbon, ADCB is bringing together the community for a Breast Cancer Awareness Run in Abu Dhabi. In partnership with Cleveland Clinic and the Al Jalila Foundation, the run will take place on October 24 to honour and support those affected by breast cancer. Open to all ages, the initiative aims to unite and strengthen a community around a health issue that remains an important part of the conversation. The run welcomes participants of all fitness levels, with three different tracks encouraging as many people as possible to take part.
Pinktober served at Kempinski

Bringing back its annual Pinktober Afternoon Tea, The Aspen Café at Kempinski Hotel has partnered with the Al Jalila Foundation. The café invites guests to gather their community for intimate conversation centred on a meaningful cause. This year, the venue invites guests to indulge in a specially curated menu inspired by the campaign’s signature pink theme, featuring a thoughtful selection of sweet treats created in honour of the initiative.
Movement with intention
This October, IGNITE Wellness is hosting its annual run in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, once again bringing together a community that moves with purpose. In partnership with the Al Jalila Foundation, 100 per cent of registration fees will be donated to help fund cancer treatment and research. Rooted in wellness and community, the initiative allows you to choose your preferred fitness pursuit, with a swim and run session on October 3, Pink Moon-Lit Yoga on October 5 and Pink Paddle on October 10.
